ATS rule engine · LLM reasoning · one score

Know how your resume reads, before a recruiter does.

ResumeIQ passes your resume through a deterministic ATS rule engine and a large language model, rejects documents that aren't resumes, then returns one transparent number — your Career Readiness Score — with the exact edits that move it.

01What the machine checks

Two engines. One honest reading.

A deterministic rule engine checks what recruiters' software checks. A large language model reads what a hiring manager reads. Neither inflates the other.

Not a resume? We say so.

Every upload passes a validation gate before scoring starts. NDAs, invoices, academic papers and garbled scans are turned away with a reason — instead of a invented score.

CID fonts break naive parsers — React becomes Rgact. Our byte-level decoder maps glyphs per font and survives compressed object streams.

Reasoning, with a fallback chain

A 120B-parameter reasoning model does the reading over a typed API. If the chain is unreachable, the deterministic engine still answers — calibrated, never padded.

One score, five factors, all shown

The Career Readiness Score is a weighted sum you can audit. Every factor ships with its weight and its evidence.

02

Validate

A document gate checks that it is actually a resume. Contracts, invoices and papers are rejected with the reason.

03

Analyze

ATS rules run deterministically while the language model reads for skill, impact and role fit. Two verdicts, reconciled.

03 The score

An honest zero beats a flattering thirty-five.

Most resume tools hand out encouragement. ResumeIQ starts every score at zero and earns each point against a published rubric — so when the number moves, you know exactly why.
